AP: Breaking News
I spent three days covering the shooting that occurred at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita. I produced multiple edits and found sources for different angles. I collaborated with text reporters to research and locate the different cites where the suspect lived, the reunification center for parents and children, the hospital and several memorials.
I covered the Kobe Bryant Calabasas helicopter crash and shot B-roll of the crash site as well as multiple pressers with NTSB. Here is an example of one of my pieces from the three days I was in Calabasas.
AP: Story
I covered some of the CA fires in San Bernardino and Riverside once they were almost contained. I shot and edited the fire footage from this story and interviews and monitored the progress of the firefighters in the area.
While on-site at the Calabasas helicopter crash I interviewed witnesses. I shot and edited this piece among other stories that I produced.
I shot and edited this piece as well as others on the California boat fire tragedy. I covered multiple angles and produced stories on the memorial, the victims families and updates from local and federal authorities.
AP: Enterprise
I produced, shot and edited this piece on a wildlife crossing going up across a freeway.
This is the first piece that AP gave me total control over and allowed me the freedom to create what I wanted. This was not only picked up by local outlets (KABC) but national outlets (USA today, Yahoo News)
Package: KOMU
I reported on a bus driver who was at risk for getting fired. I produced, shot and edited the package as well as writing the script. It is a story I am most proud of for the relationships I developed, and work I put in.
Here is a piece I worked on for AP on a California law banning hairstyle discrimination. I shot the first interview and the first few sequences of b-roll.
AP: Package
I had the opportunity to go on a ride-along with ICE in San Diego as they performed arrests during a special operation. I shot video of the arrests and well as an interview with the ICE field director.I would love to do more coverage of immigration to understand the process better in the future.
Interview: Reuters
While interning at Reuters in Brussels, Belgium I had the chance to conduct a lot of interesting interviews. This one, with a Rabbi, was an interesting and personal interview as I listened to his response on Poland's anti-Semitic decision.
